Dad, mom, can I live in the clouds?”, was the question I asked my parents as a child. They looked surprised. The looks in their eyes are full of wonder. “Son, don’t dream like that. Just make sure you do your best at school and get a good job, because later on you will have to put food on the table.”
It is a difficult time for dreamers. Today we all have to perform and eventually grow up. There are expectations that we want to live up to, expectations that are imposed on us, but also expectations that we set ourselves. We have to grow up, learn to stand on our own two feet, find good jobs and excel. For example, we are told that “the sky is the limit” and that we live in a world of unprecedented possibilities. If we don’t make it to the top, it’s up to us. Then we should have made better choices. We smile at the outside world to present ourselves as perfect as possible. But what actually lies behind the road to success?

During the search for yourself, you also discover that your parents are getting older. The superhero who always could do everything turns out to be mortal. The work “Mother” shows the transition period of how thje “taking care” is slowly transferred from one persone to the other.

Being born is a violent action, once a person is born the only thing that is left is to die in the end. In the work Mother II the partisipant is set for the dilemma to break the egg and reslease the photo. Knowing it will never can turn into the original state.
